Could you volunteer and make a difference to a young person in care? NYAS offers child and family advocacy services, and a wide range of additional support, to support, safeguard and empower care-experienced children, young people, adults in vulnerable situations.

Independent visitors are volunteers who provide support and friendship to a young person in care. This involves establishing a supportive relationship where a young person will have the opportunity to develop their interests and build self esteem. The role includes a visit once a month (on a Saturday or Sunday) with a £30 budget. All training, DBS and costs covered. No experience necessary.

We currently have 3 young boys in foster care waiting for an Independent Visitor. They have all requested a positive male role model to support them and take them out for fun activities. Some activities include sports, climbing centres, cinema and meals out.
