This is a great opportunity to mentor with a Reading-based charity called Chapter2. We provide male mentors for fatherless boys in the Reading area.  Our mentoring is activity-based.

Being a mentor is simply offering your presence consistently and unconditionally over the long term. It is primarily about showing up and remaining present in the life of a fatherless boy. A mentor is not a coach or a counsellor but a friend. At Chapter2 we believe in activity based mentoring and encourage our mentors to seek out fun activities that they and their mentee enjoy together. We also aim to match mentors and mentees together that already have similar interests. At least once a quarter we provide group fun activities for all mentors and mentees on the programme to participate in.

Our next training day will take place on Saturday 3rd October. Attending the training day does not obligate you to become a mentor, but men who are interested in mentoring are encouraged to come and see if it’s something they’d be willing to commit to.
